In Pieces by Danielle Pearl is the second book in the Something More series. It is also the first Danielle Pearl book I have read. In Pieces is set on a college campus. Beth is a Freshman and David is a Junior as well as her older Brother's best friend. He is one of the big men on campus since he is in a fraternity.
Beth is a little bit of an introvert and not particularly use to being in big crowds due to issues from her past. Beth has deep down always been in love with David. Beth's family love the fact that David is attending the same college as Beth because they know they don't have to worry about her being away from home. He will take care of her as he always has.
David has to protect Beth at all cost. She is his best friends sister. What kind of friend would he be if he let something happen to her? If David can't be where Beth is then he shall get the pledges to be there for him. No matter what he can not act on the feelings he is developing or has always had because it would mean the end of his friendship with Cap.
David and Beth have the friendship first type romance. No matter what they always have each others back. All in all is was a good read. You get little pieces of the past throughout In Pieces to help you understand how Beth and David got to where they are today. So you get to see exactly how they became the people that they are.
